Cute place. We ordered carbonara and cheesecake milk tea. Waited for more than 15 minutes for food to arrive. Carbonara was ok. Cheesecake milk tea was good, but not as good as macao’s.
The hype about Black Scoop Cafe has been flooding my IG feeds for quite sometime. One afternoon, while running some errands, I was surprised that there was a new outlet near to where we are staying. So my son and I decided to drop by and find out why a lot of people have been raving about it.
AMBIENCE: From the store's facade, the look is simple, yet there is also some sort of grandiosity to it. Very clean and inviting. The minimalist/ industrial/hole-in-the-wall-ish design will make one constantly look around to marvel how everything was put together very well.
FOOD/DRINK: With the big sintra menu welcoming you near the counter, the plethora of choices may seem to overwhelm a first time visitor so I let my son do the scouting for his own drink/meal while I just looked around for possible "subtle" recommendations through displays. Got the Brown Sugar Milk Tea and my son opted for the Hershey Cream Cheese drink. He also ordered the carbonara pasta.
The Brown Sugar drink did not disappoint. It had the right amount of sweetness, the pearls were chewy and the milk tea was the right base to balance it all. It was so good that even if my son really liked his drink, he helped himself to several sips of mine. The carbonara was really good too. The cream did not make it a greasy mess, and the flavor perfectly complemented the sweet drinks.
SERVICE: Not sure if this is the norm in terms of service time, but it seemed a bit slow that day when there were just less than 12 customers for lunch. I hope it was just slow for that day.
Verdict? I say Black really is still beautiful...and wonderfully delicious! Would go back to try their Black Mascarpone and other food items.
MILK TEA CRAWL sa BF Homes Paranaque!
2nd Stop: Black Scoop Cafe, Aguirre Ave
Had to try their Milk Tea Swirl but unfortunately, it was unavailable. Resorted to tasting their Black Mascarpone Swirl (P90 for plain) which was not bad at all, really cheesy and creamy, albeit the charcoal gray color.
The Hersheys Chocolate Milk Tea with chocolate pudding (P130 for a Large cup) was a choco overload. A bit too much. I would have liked pearls instead.
Wasn't able to take a good pic of the place because of so mang people. I do feel they need to work on the layout of their tables though.
This is located near the intersectio of Aguirre Avenue and El Grande, next to BPI. You won't miss it because of their big Black Scoop logo and sign.
